2010-05-24 to 2010-05-30I hate allergies! Mine gets worse with every passing year. From the oldest to the youngest, allergies are a given in this family [mold, mildew, dander, grasses, pollen etc.], but this year, this May....we've all been treated to particularly wicked bouts of chronic this, that and the other. Zyrtec, Claritin, Clarintin-D, Clarinex...you name it - we're all too familiar with them. Imagine having allergies compounded by chronic bronchitis. If the actuall allergy does not get you the debilitating cough will finish you off. How do you function with meds to alleviate the symptoms of both? Well, I can vouch fo r the fact that it is not very easy! Feel as if I've been on an extended trip with no particular itinerary. Not sure if I want to move to a drier climate or an altogether arid one. Ah...what I'd give to breath deeply without bringing on a coughing fit or, if it's not asking too much, get a pass on the itchy eyes and never ending post nasal drip. Now that I think of it, there is one place where all of these pesky ills were absent. Virtually no vegetation and where the humidity hovers between 10 and 15%. Just think - never a bad hair day and void of all those things which promote allergies. But that was then... Curious about Virginia tree, grass and weed allergens? Click HERE for a list of every possible culprit. And for those of us who really "need to know" the good, the bad and the ugly truth about current levels - here is the pollen forecast for Woodbridge, Virginia.
