Best restaurants Woodbridge Va is a frequent Internet search term.
We personally started contributing to web stats years ago when the area was hopelessly short of local eateries. But the last time I checked, there were close to a miliion search queries! The Tex-Mex Cookbook: History in Recipes and Photos

In the late 70s, Woodbridge was definitely not known for its fine or casual dining establishments - chain or otherwise, although I will admit that I enjoyed grabbing a quick bite to eat at Lum's every once in a while.
Although cooking is a longtime hobby of mine, every once in a while it was, and still is, nice to eat out...you know - go to a restaurant!
Other than a sprinkling of the usual fast food counters and a few fine dining establishments such as the Occoquan Inn, or the Bistro Belgique (also in Occoquan), eating out with the family usually meant driving into close-in Springfield or Alexandria for anything other than fast food cuisine.
Then came Potomac Mills and the big chain restaurants.
Recent Restaurant News: In the Tex-Mex category, we have both Moe's and Chipotle but now you know who tops the list!

Along with the Mall came the requisite food court eateries and a number of larger restaurants, both around the periphery of the mall and within the shopping mecca itself.
With a growing selection of places to eat out, it was fun to decide on "which restaurant do we try next?".
We had our favorites, some of which have long since left the Woodbridge scene.
Among the favorites for a quick fish dinner was the Chesapeake Seafood House with their all-you-can eat specials. Still only a notch above Arthur Treacher's and Long John Silver fast food.
Tim Rivershore Restaurant & Crabhouse did not exist when we first came to Prince WIlliam County but it has been the scene of milestone birthday celebrations since then :-)

The Petra Mediterranean Grill:
Although gyros sandwiches are typically associated with Greek food, they are (from personal experience) the staple "fast food" of the Middle East. I"ve eaten that many while "on location"! Even make the meat at home now with my own recipe.
Gyros come in as many variations as there are countries in that part of the world!
The best tasting are made with lamb, chicken and beef but you will find some made with nothing but lamb which are out of this world tasty!
Regardless of the grilled meat combo, the rest of the sandwich makings also create endless variations on the classic version.
No need to travel to Greece or the Middle East to experience the flavors of the region.
Head to the Petra Grill at #443, in the Food Court at Potomac Mills Mall for some of the best tasting gyros in the neighborhood - and grab a plate of Dolmades while you are it.
If you happen to live mid-county or just driving through and feel like "dining in", visit the Petra Grill in the Shops at County Center. Their address is 12623 Galveston Court, Manassas, VA 20112; Phone: 703-590-1100
Pictured here is their carry-out Gyro Platter with pilaf, a salad covered with Feta cheese, the yogurt sauce and a side order of Dolmades...which by the way are some of the best tasting I've had in a looong time!
Other local restaurants offering regional and ethnic cuisine include Afghan and regional Indian/Pakistani/Afghan cuisines.
Al-Zaytoun Kabob & Grill:A visitor from New Jersey offered this review of one of our local restaurants.
"Al-Zaytoun Kabob & Grill was a real culinary flashback! Having spent much of my teen years in the Middle East, to include 3 yrs in Afghanistan, my lunch last week at Al-Zaytoun Kabob & Grill was a trip down memory lane.
The lamb kebobs were tender, boneless chicken kabobs perfectly seasoned, and the seekh kabobs will make your eyes water. All are served with fresh out-of-the-oven tandoori naan.
Everything was delicious, service was quick, the price was right, and all this washed down with an incredible homemade mint lemonade.
Whether you've always been a fan of Middle Eastern food, or are out to explore new flavors, take it from one who's been there ... you won't be disappointed. Stop by Al-Zaytoun Kabob & Grill for lunch or dinner."
