Fourth of July Fireworks in Montclair, VA

Fourth of July Fireworks in Montclair, VA

As a lifelong resident of the Northern Virginia area, the "tradition" had always been to go to downtown Washington, D.C. to watch the fireworks.

This year, however, in an attempt to avoid the infamous D.C. traffic, we took a chance on the fireworks show held in the local community of Montclair.

The results were unexpected AND amazing. The show lasted about 20 minutes and puts our "tradition" of trekking up to D.C. for fireworks at serious risk.

A great fireworks show and a five minute drive back home....can't beat it!!

Montclair Va Fireworks A Must See!
by: Anonymous

Watching the fireworks on the Mall is a 4th of July tradition in our family but this year, we got a late start into town.

The traffic backed up to such an extent that we decided to catch a local fireworks display.

We were too late for the Quantico display so we headed back up the road and decided to watch the fireworks in Montclair.

Parked on a side street off Waterway and walked towards Dolphin Beach.

We were much too late to get close but there, just feet from the sidewalk along Waterway, we watched a spectacular fireworks display - all without the problems associated with a trip into town.

It may just be the beginnings of a new tradition!
