Homepage > Where To Shop > Potomac Mills Mall Shopping Potomac Mills Mall When Potomac Mills Mall opened its doors in September 1985, we were among the first shoppers to walk the shiny parquet floors. As Woodbridge residents, we welcomed the ability to shop within a very short driving distance from home. Gone were the days when Christmas shopping required trips into the city or nearby malls such as Springfield Mall or Tyson’s Corner. Many of the original stores are gone now but other stores quickly replaced them. Even as residents, we often have trouble keeping up to date on the current mall occupants. Update July 2010: Bloomingdale's will open their first store in Prince William County at Potomac Mills on August 20. Also new to the Mall...Crazy 8, a fashion and accessories store for newborn to size 14 and a "Gymboree" brand will open in Neighborhood 2. Potomac Mills Mall is huge... It one of the world's largest outlet malls in the country and a bargain shopper's paradise. The mall also ranks as one of the top tourist attractions in the Washington D.C. area. Mall Hours Monday through Saturday: 10:00am - 9:00pm Sunday: 11:00am - 6:00pm Please note that individual stores may have their own holiday hours which differ from Mall hours. Located just off Interstate 95, between Exits 156 and 158B, Potomac Mills Mall is easily accessible to both local, northern Virginia residents and visitors. Retail giants such as Neiman Marcus “Last Call”, Saks Fifth Avenue “Off 5th” serve as anchor stores. Macy's will add a Bloomingdale outlet during summer or fall 2010. A Personal favorite is Nordstrom Rack – one of the original mall occupants. Chico's Outlet was also a favorite until they closed their doors on 10/27/09. Labels such as Juicy Couture can be found in several stores including Nordstrom, T.J.Maxx and Marshall's but Juicy Couture does not have a store at the Mall. Their only listed store is at Tyson's Galleria. But wait...what's this I overheard? A Juicy Couture outlet is coming to Neighborhood 1. More than 200 top-notch retail stores in five, distinct "neighborhoods" offer merchandise in a variety of categories, with IKEA occupying a prime location outside the main mall building. The Food Court is located directly behind the main mall entrance in Neighborhood 4. It offers a great assortment of quick service food from Frank & Stein to Sbarro Italian Eatery, Chinese to Mediterranean and several standard fast food counters. Has all the shopping resulted in complete exhaustion? For a reviving jolt of caffeine, stop by the Starbucks store, located immediately off the Food Court and conveniently next to a Mrs. Field's Cookies. Looking for Steve Madden shoes? Check out Off Broadway Shoes, located just inside the Neighborhood 1 mall entrance and don't forget to visit the shoe department at Nordstrom Rack. Ruby Tuesday used to occupy the corner near the entrance to Neighborhood 1 but on the perimeter of the mall, you will find other full service restaurants such as the Olive Garden and Chili’s. Are your children tired of shopping? Send them to the movies. Here is a listing of the movie show times and tickets. AMC Potomac Mills 18 occupies a corner of the mall, in Neighborhood 1, right next to Neiman Marcus and Off Broadway Shoes. With 18 screens, you are sure to find a show appropriate for every member of the family. The parking lot directly outside the theater fills up very quickly at show times and is near capacity all weekend. Beginning in late fall, the entire Potomac Mill Mall complex becomes very busy and it feels as if everyone on the East Coast is shopping in Woodbridge, Virginia. The monthly turnaround in mall occupants often produces a brand new lineup of stores. Newcomers include the Calvin Klein outlet, Cole Haan, and Coach Outlet store, which recently replaced Eddie Bauer. It promises to be a popular destination. Judging by the long lines at the cash registers, this brand new store is already a huge retail success. No every seasoned shopper will agree with my tactics but I've been shopping the mall since it opened in 1985. It works and here is how I do it.
